Is your organisation making optimal use of insights from HR data? In today’s ‘war for talent’, HR data can provide insights that improve employee performance and, in the (medium) long term, strengthen the organisation as well. But to what extent is your organisation ready for this? To help you find out, we developed an online assessment that provides insight into this.

What does the HR Analytics Maturity Assessment measure?

The HR Analytics Maturity Assessment is designed to provide a clear picture of the current use of HR analytics within your organisation. The assessment covers various HR areas throughout the employee journey, identifying where your organisation makes greater or lesser use of HR analytics. By HR analytics, we mean the professional collection, statistical analysis and automated application of HR data.

Based on 10 statements, the assessment calculates how advanced your organisation is in terms of HR analytics and describes the results in a personalised assessment report. The report gives you an overall score out of 20 and explains what you can do to improve. The higher your score, the better your organisation is making use of HR analytics!

How do I know if I am on the right track?

At the end of the assessment, you will receive an overall score. Each score is linked to one of the four maturity levels below. Below the image, we provide an overview of the four maturity levels.

  • Maturity level 1: HR speculators
Intuition and experience take the lead in making HR decisions for HR speculators. Organisations at this maturity level mainly perform descriptive analyses, or the collection of HR data is not yet carried out consistently and with sufficient quality.
  • Maturity level 2: HR explorers
HR data already regularly help achieve HR objectives. Organisations at this maturity level can uncover relationships through analyses and perform simple regressions. Data are collected per department or project, but not yet organisation-wide.
  • Maturity level 3: HR investors
HR data provide input equal to that of the HR team, and there is a strategic plan for the use of HR analytics. Organisations at this maturity level can perform more complex analyses, and data are easily accessible through a central system.
  • Maturity level 4: HR leaders
HR analytics are an important part of the business strategy and provide a competitive advantage. Processes are generally automated. Organisations at this maturity level have the knowledge and tools to perform predictive analyses and innovate where possible.

Although a lower score means that you still have a longer way to go, all categories struggle with their own HR analytics challenges. For your organisation, the challenge may lie in convincing your management team of the value of HR analytics. Other organisations may mainly want to focus on getting all employees on board.

Whatever your challenge may be, after completing the assessment you will receive a personal report in your inbox containing all further information about your maturity level and, more importantly, how you can get even more out of your HR data.

Do I also receive practical tips to become stronger in HR analytics?

If your organisation already makes extensive use of HR analytics but still struggles to get everyone involved or to gain a competitive advantage from it, you can use this assessment to measure your organisation’s current level and identify what you can do to improve.

If your organisation is not yet making use of the power of HR analytics, now is the time to start! This new assessment helps your organisation make smarter HR decisions and guides you in getting started with HR analytics.

The report provides 3 concrete action points to steer your organisation in the right direction. These action points are tailored to the maturity level assigned to you according to the assessment. This allows us to provide the most targeted advice possible. Topics such as data quality, advanced analytical techniques and employee engagement are all covered. Should you still have specific questions, you can always contact us. Together, we will determine the approach that best fits your unique situation.

Conclusion

As an HR professional, this assessment gives you insight into how important data are for your company. They are not only a way to keep track of simple employee information, but also allow you to derive important insights from those data and put them into practice.

However, it is not always easy to translate an Excel file into well-founded HR decisions that help your HR department and your organisation move forward. This is a process that must be improved step by step, and it starts with a concrete action plan.

That is why we developed this HR Analytics Maturity Assessment, which gives your organisation a clear picture of your HR analytics capabilities. Now and in the future.
