We’re results-oriented. That means you don’t always have to be in the office if it improves the quality of your work. However, for an inspiring brainstorming session or to connect with colleagues, we do expect you to be in the office two days a week or, occasionally, at a client’s location.

Your role

As an HR Data Architect, you’ll be part of a small but powerful team of driven individuals with a passion for data and people. Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Designing robust and scalable data architectures for clients’ HR data environments.
  • Developing logical and physical data models that clearly and reliably integrate various data sources.
  • Setting up and structuring data flows and ETL/ELT processes between different systems and platforms.
  • Contributing ideas on modern cloud data platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric and related components.
  • Monitoring data quality, governance, security, and documentation to ensure that solutions not only function but can also be managed sustainably.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and clients to translate business needs into feasible architectural and integration choices.
  • Analyzing technical challenges related to performance, structure, or maintainability and formulating well-reasoned proposals for improvement.
  • Optional: Contributing to dashboards, visualizations, or analytical applications if this aligns with your interests and strengths.
  • Optional: Helping to build knowledge-sharing practices, methodologies, or innovation initiatives within Starfish.

Your profile

  • You are an analytical thinker, work in a structured manner, and can clearly explain complex technical issues.
  • You have experience with data modeling, data integration, and setting up reliable data structures.
  • You understand how data architecture, performance, and maintainability are interrelated.
  • You are familiar with SQL and feel comfortable structuring, linking, and optimizing data sources.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, Microsoft Fabric, Azure components, or similar environments is a strong asset.
  • You pay close attention to data quality, governance, and security, and factor these into your technical decisions.
  • You document clearly, so that colleagues and clients can build on what you’ve set up.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and are also comfortable doing so in English. Do you also know French? That’s a plus.
  • You have a customer-centric mindset and find it interesting to combine technical expertise with consulting.
  • You want to help build Starfish into the leading provider of HR analytics in Flanders and Brussels.


Ideally, you already have several years of experience in a relevant role. But even if your background doesn’t fit perfectly into a standard category, we’d love for you and your passion for data architecture to surprise us.

Don’t have any experience in HR yet? That’s no problem. We’d be happy to introduce you to this exciting world. For us, it’s more important that you’re strong in data structures, architectural decisions, and technical implementation.
